Masterclass at CERN
2026

An eight-day residential expedition to the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva — the world’s leading particle physics laboratory. Thirty-three students spend the week inside CERN’s facilities, working alongside scientists and mentors who run experiments at the frontier of what we know about the universe.

Where the universe is taken apart for a living.

CERN sits on the border between France and Switzerland, just outside Geneva. It runs the Large Hadron Collider — the largest and most powerful particle accelerator ever built — and the experiments that first confirmed the Higgs boson.

The Masterclass takes a cohort of thirty-three students there for eight days. Alongside guided visits to the labs, the week includes hands-on STEM workshops, sessions with working scientists, and time to explore Geneva as a city that has shaped modern science. It is designed for students who want to see, at close range, what serious physics actually looks like from the inside.
